Leaders
Young Leaders in Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health
in the Mesoamerican Reef Countries
We believe that by training the leaders of tomorrow, we can make a
significant, visible and lasting difference in the quality of life
of young people in selected countries in Mesoamerica. Toward this
end, we are working to create a cadre of outstanding young
professionals committed to improving adolescent sexual and reproductive
health in Honduras, Guatemala, Belize and Quintana Roo, Mexico.
In collaboration with International
Health Programs, we have developed the GOJoven
Program, now in its fourth year, which is working to:
- Identify outstanding young professionals who are experienced
in reproductive health and committed to the field;
- Foster the commitment of these young leaders, expand their
vision, extend their technical knowledge and strengthen their
leadership skills;
- Create an effective regional network of young leaders dedicated
to creating innovative solutions to adolescent reproductive
health challenges;
- Foster an environment that supports youth leadership in the
organizations where these young leaders work; and
- Expand public support for adolescent sexual and reproductive
health in these countries.
