Advocacy for Universal Access for Youth
One of the most highly leveraged ways we can achieve a sustainable
global population and empower young people is through advocating for
youth in the developing world to have access to comprehensive sexual
and reproductive health information and services.
To achieve the goal of universal access, we provide support
for:
- Organizations that most effectively advocate for comprehensive
sexual and reproductive health funding, policies and programs
for youth around the world, and
- Targeted efforts to train and support young leaders who can
advocate effectively for comprehensive sexual and reproductive
health programs and policies for young people around the world.
All of our advocacy grantees must be able to articulate clearly
and specifically how their work will move the world closer toward
the goal of universal access by young people.
With Summit support, the World Health Organization has identified
a set of 16 key indicators to measure access to health services
for young people for preventing HIV and improving sexual and reproductive
health. These measures are helping us to track global progress toward
the goal of universal access. It is our hope that they will be useful
to others working in this area as well.
